Welcome to our newest Hygge Life Travel Club Travel Consultant, Jayne DeMerchant!

As a little girl growing up in Northern Maine I used to love going to the small airport where I lived and watch the planes come and go while dreaming of all the places I wanted to see (true story).  Fast forward to my adult years and over the past 30+ years I have been able to fulfill some of my dreams of travel yet I have so much more I want to see.  I have travelled by myself, with family, friends, teams and can honestly say that each one creates its own unique experience and fond memories for me.  A common theme in all of my travels has been to connect with the local culture, by talking to the locals, eating local and enjoy the beautiful place that they call Home.  Everyone that travels with me knows that “it will be an adventure” can be just about anything!           

My fascination for travel is not just about where I am going but in the planning, the journey to get there, the destination and all the scenery along the way but the most exhilarating thing of all of the travel is the people that I meet along the way and the stories they share.  A few years ago I set out on a twelve-month adventure of challenging myself to do something out of my comfort zone once a month for twelve months.  Some were big things (spent time in Haiti) and some were small things (went to my first ballet – yup I can cross that off my bucket list) but over the course of those twelve months, my passion for adventure increased.  I learned a lot about myself and the biggest discovery was that I want experiences NOT things!
