Brent Mason is an award winning east coast musician, writer and film maker. His live shows reveal a world class, often hilarious story teller which also manifests itself in his short stories and poetry.  Perhaps it’s his History degree, perhaps it’s his life experience as a traveller and carny, or perhaps it’s his Irish roots or his love of music, but whatever it is, there’s something about Ireland that connects with Brent and he’d love to share this special tour of the Emerald Isle with you!

DAY 1: Thursday, September 10 – Dublin

Welcome to Ireland! Upon arrival in Dublin make your way to the hotel conveniently located in the heart of the city. Depending on arrival time, check in or leave your bags at hotel and then explore the vibrant capital of Ireland. As a group we will then depart the hotel for Irish cuisine at a traditional restaurant. Tonight, we’ll gather at a local pub and lift our first Guinness in the Emerald Isle. Slainte!

DAY 2: Friday, September 11 – Dublin

Today is your day to explore Dublin! The group will depart the hotel for an exploratory walk, ending up at the Guinness Storehouse for a brewery tour. Then gather for lunch at the historical Brazen Head Pub. After a lunch break, you are free to explore the city’s many sites and experiences.

Day 3: Saturday, September 12 – Dingle

Today we will travel through the heart of south central Ireland. We’ll stop for lunch in Cashel, Tipperary County, and then a fascinating tour of the Rock of Cashel. The Rock of Cashel, also known as Cashel of the Kings and St. Patrick’s Rock, is a historical site located dramatically above a plain at Cashel, County Tipperary, Ireland

From there we’ll continue our journey to the scenic Dingle Peninsula, our home for the next 2 nights.

Day 4: Sunday, September 13 – Dingle

The Dingle Peninsula has one of the greatest concentrations of archaeological sites in Western Europe, stretching back over the past 7000 years. It is estimated that there are almost 2500 archaeological sites on this narrow rugged finger of land jutting into the Atlantic Ocean. You will visit archaeological sites that include Medieval drystone bridge, a famine burial ground, aspects of medieval Dingle, neolithic rock art, the earliest Irish alphabet written in stone (Ogham script), sacred wells, early Christian monastic sites, drystone oratories, ringforts, beehive huts and medieval churches.

Day 5: Monday, September 14 – Doolin 

Today we depart for the musical town of Doolin in County Clare. The village is known for its traditional Irish music, scenic landscapes, and proximity to natural attractions like the Burren and Doolin Cave. The drive from Dingle to Doolin is a scenic journey takeing you from the rugged coast of County Kerry to the unique landscape of the Burren in County Clare.

Day 6: Tuesday, September 15 – Doolin

Today, we’ll walk to the local Doolin ferry and travel to the magnificent Isle of Inishmore, on Ireland’s Aran Islands. Inishmore can only be accessed by a flight or ferry. Getting there by ferry and while on the island, you will experience Inishmore’s history and cultural. By going to the Dún Aonghasa Fort, The Seven Churches, a seal colony viewing point, and a local craft village, you will hear and see the culture and history of the island as you explore. On the return trip, you’ll have a unique perspective of one of Ireland’s most breathtaking natural attractions, the Cliffs of Moher. During the evening, Brent will lead the group to a local pub.

Day 7: Wednesday, September 16 – Donegal

A relaxing driving day today through the Irish countryside. This route will take you through picturesque countryside and small villages like Oughterard. As you approach Clifden, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the Connemara landscape, including mountains and coastal views. From there the road will take you through the scenic Connemara National Park, with opportunities to stop and enjoy the natural beauty. You’ll pass through the town of Leenane and along the shores of Killary Harbour before reaching Westport for lunch.

Next continue on to Donegal, with the route offering views of the rugged landscape and perhaps a stop at the historic town of Sligo. When driving this route, make sure to enjoy the stunning coastal views, mountains, and charming Irish towns along the way. Each leg of the journey offers unique attractions and breathtaking scenery.

DAY 8: Thursday, September 17 – Donegal

Today we focus back on pubs and music with an Authentic Irish Pub Culture Day Tour. Sample the world famous Irish Pub Culture with a fully immersive experience that belongs on any Irish bucket list. Enjoy multiple live traditional music sessions by talented local musicians with an array of Irish instruments, and hear local songs and tunes passed down though the generations. Relax in front of a cozy turf fire and soak up the atmosphere that only an authentic Irish pub can offer.

DAY 9: Friday, September 18 – Dublin 

We’re on the road again back to Dublin, but not before squeezing in one last stop on the way at the Marble Arch Caves. The Marble Arch Caves, one of Europe’s most impressive cave systems. Formed over 330 million years ago, they reach more than 11km in length, and are constantly evolving, as the underground waters continue to erode the County Fermanagh limestone to form a strange and fantastical world.

Upon arriving back in Dublin and checking into your hotel for your final night, you’ll take part in a tour tradition which is the Dublin Literary Pub Crawl. Since 1988 the Dublin Literary Pub Crawl has been rambling the streets of the capital and bringing to life the literary history of the city. Professional actors tell you the story of the gin palace, the long hall and the spirit grocer, while quoting from the works of Joyce, Behan, Wilde and many more. The tour is a form of street theatre, allowing the audience to stand beside the actors and experience the language live on the streets of the city where it was born.

DAY 10: Saturday, September 19 – Depart

All good things must come to an end, including your time in the Emerald Isle. Make your way to the airport and depart according to your flight times.
